Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a cognitive-behavioural approach to therapy. It aims to teach patients to face their problems openly with mindfulness and compassion. This should enable them to pursue their wishes and goals in life.

The effectiveness of ACT has been proven in numerous (meta-)studies, whereby the spectrum of concerns and difficulties is very broad, e.g. motivational enhancement, anxiety disorders, depression, psychosomatic disorders. ACT can be used not only in individual therapy, but also in couples and group therapy and is also suitable for self-help.
